Public Sector Unions, including JALGO, today May 30, 2006) signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Government of Jamaica. The MOU will last for two (2) years commencing April 1, 2006 and features:-

1. Increases in wages ranging from 27% to 13% in the first year and 5% across the board in the second year

2. Guaranteed retention of jobs

3. Establishment of a $500million loan facility to assist Public Sector workers to access tertiary education 4. Provision of $50million dollars for an entrepreneurial skills acquisition programme
